Matchbox Voltron II

The infamous Matchbox line of toys brought Albegas into the Voltron world.  Albegas was marketed as "Voltron II" with each individual component named "gladiators".  Each gladiator was sold individually as a "mini" Voltron (there were mini's for both the assembled Lion and Vehicle robots).  The "Deluxe Gladitor Set" (click here to see picture) contained all three gladiators.  Fully assembled, Voltron II measures 10 3/4 inches.  The toys were originally made and sold in Japan by Bandai (click here to see picture), and contained firing mechanisms for the fists.  The Matchbox version eliminated the firing mechanisms, as the fists are not removable.  It's been noted that this makes it impossible to stow the extra four arms when assembling the full robot, so you wind up with a six-armed Voltron.

Bandai Albegas Figure

There was a 4 3/4 figure from Bandai, marketed as "Albegas".  Little is known about this figure, but a photo is available from David Mark Din's original site.

Sega Video Game

There was a laserdisc video game for Sega game systems released in 1984 by Sega/Bally/Midway.  The game was also known as "Cybernaut".  The game featured aninimated backgrounds and suround sound.  There are a handful of websites with information on the video game.
